
Remparts Aquathlon
On Saturday, May 2, the Royal Military College Saint-Jean (RMC Saint-Jean) is proud to host the Remparts Aquathlon, a sporting event bringing together junior, university, and elite athletes in a dynamic race format combining running and swimming.
This event aims to contribute to the development of a university aquathlon series involving several institutions, including Université Laval, Université de Sherbrooke, Université de Montréal, and RMC Saint-Jean.
Athletes from other universities are also welcome.
Competition Format
The aquathlon is held in an individual run – swim – run format.
Approximate distances:
Run: 2.8 km
Swim: 730 m (32 pool lengths)
Run: 2.8 km
Each segment will be timed using an electronic chip.
The swimming portion will take place in pool lanes, with a maximum of four athletes per lane.
Categories
The event features three main categories:
- Junior (ages 15–19)
- University
- Elite
Start waves will be organized according to categories.
Event Schedule
Wave starts:
- Wave 1: 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.
- Wave 2: 10:45 – 11:30 a.m.
- Wave 3: 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
- Wave 4: 12:15 – 1:00 p.m.
🏆 Awards Ceremony: 1:15 – 1:30 p.m.
A pre-race briefing will take place 10 minutes before each start.
Start waves and pool lanes will be confirmed by email to athletes a few days before the competition.
Warm-Up
Facilities will be available before the race:
- Pool open for warm-up: 9:00 – 9:45 a.m.
- Athletes may also warm up on the running course or on the 400 m track (if open).
- Lockers will be available for athletes (bringing a lock is recommended).
Registration
Registration is completed online.
A registration link will also be available on the Triathlon Québec website.
Registration deadline: Thursday, April 30
Prizes and Awards
Prizes will be awarded to the top three athletes in each category:
🥇 1st place: $20 gift card
🥈 2nd place: $15 gift card
🥉 3rd place: Prize to be confirmed

Parking
- Ask for directions to Parking Lot P6 at the security gate.
- Then follow the aquathlon event signage.
On-Site Services
- Snacks and drinks at the finish line
- Secure transition zone
- Electronic timing
- Access to RMC Saint-Jean sports facilities
Personal belongings must be retrieved from the transition area before the end of the next wave.
